Turning 23 on the 23rd in Paris... How does one get so LUCKY!

PARIS, PARIS, PARIS...Where am I even suppose to start? Well I guess I should start with when my birthday celebration started.  The night before my birthday Tracy Mason and I celebrated with an amazing dinner that was finished with a WONDERFUL cake (Tracy made and Mason frosted). The next morning Tracy made french toast for breakfast which was perfect seeing that I was leaving for PARIS.

And then I was off and little did I know that it was going to be one of the most amazing weekends of my life!

Paris was amazingly beautiful, historic, awesome, brilliant, gorgeous, exciting, adventurous, crazy, and intriguing.  I have never seen a place like this ever! I met some great new friends and had a weekend that I will never forget.  We took the eurostar over there and got into Paris around 4pm.  The group was split into two groups of people and the majority of people were at one hotel but I was with the smaller group of 15 in a different hotel.  Being with the smaller group kinda made me nervous because going into this trip I literally new one person who of course was in the other hotel.  I was able to meet a kid named Jesse who invited me to hang out with his group of friends which ended up being a lot of fun.  After checking into the hotel I got ready and headed down to the other hotel to meet Ashley (my one friend going into this trip).  We bought a bottle of champagne and toasted to being in Paris and for it being my birthday!  After this, we headed out for a night on the town.  We went to Bastille which was a younger area that had quite a few pubs and clubs which was a lot of fun.  In a way we did our own little pub crawl because we wanted to see what all the different places were like.

The next morning we got up early to meet downstairs for our bus tour of the city.  When getting to the elevator I met a bunch of the guys from the group so I was starting to feel as if I was meeting some people.  We headed out on the bus tour and saw the city.  We were able to stop and get off the bus twice.  Once at Napoleon's Tomb and at the Eiffel Tower. Here are pictures from the tour.

(There are many more pictures and we saw some more things but I am not sure I could upload all of them so I tried to pick the best)  The tour ended in front of the Louvre Museum.  This is when the big group separated.  I joined Jesse and his friends and we went into the Louvre and were able to see some amazing art.  This is another place that I have a ton of pictures so will pick out the best ones for you.

Once we felt like we saw everything we wanted (which was hard because there is so much to see) there was a group of us that went out to lunch to a very "french" place meaning none of us really knew what we were ordering but it was really delicious.  We ended up splitting up from each other all depending on what we wanted to do for the rest of the day.  A few friends and I went on a long walk through the city, all the way to the Napoleons Tomb.

We headed back to the hotel and got ready to go out on the town for the night. We went to dinner and then went in and out of a few different bars that had some fun live music.  We had two goals for the night.  The first was to watch the sunset...FAIL. The second was to see the Eiffel Tower lit up at night...SUCCESS We thought that was the best part but at the top of every hour they have a light show which makes the Tower sparkle.  It is probably one of the most beautiful things I had ever seen!

Yes I found a place that was called Indiana when walking through the streets of Paris, France!

The next morning I went downstairs for breakfast and I asked the guys what the girls were up to. (their girlfriends were at the other hotel with everyone and the guys and me and my roommate, who was not nice, and our leader were in our hotel) They told me that they had left a few hours earlier and got on an hour train ride so some place. None of us really wanted to spend the time finding them so instead we all thought it would be fun to buy some cheese, bread, and wine and sit on the the Seine River.  So that is exactly what we did and we watched the boats go by and tell our favorite parts of the weekend.  We literally laughed all afternoon :)

Our bottle broke in a very cool way!

Brian was the ultimate tourist of the trip.  He always had a map in one hand, a camera in the other and of course stood our because of his Broncos hat

I could not of asked for a better birthday weekend.  I am so grateful that I was able to have this opportunity!!! Thanks mom and dad :)  I am very sorry this took a week to get up here but we have been moving and its been crazy.  The next post should have pictures and details on the house!!!
